| Generation Kill Seven episodes at around an hour and five minutes each based on a book by Rolling Stone journo Evan Wright about his time spent with the marines during the invasion of Iraq and adapted for the screen by David Simon and Ed Burns of The Wire fame. Well good. Full of patter, good intention and episode 5 is tracer-bullet mania. |

| Re: Generation Kill Aye, like The Wire it's a slow burner, snowballing through various ill planned assaults culminating with the push into Baghdad in the final episode. The boy from Oz, Ziggy and the cop that looks like Everlast from The Wire and the chief's gay son from Rescue Me (giving Lee Ermey a run for his money in the mental officer stakes) all put in an appearance. |

Ep 1 was a bit slow.. 2 was good.. just waiting on the rest to come down.

| Re: Generation Kill I saw the first three and then someone didn't get any more episodes. Keep meaning to get 'em and finish it. It's quite brutal in places - that maniac with the AK-47 for example, what a psycho!

| Re: Generation Kill Lots of 'Oh the humanity.. we're killing civilians... look how terrible we are... *swoon*.'
But still.. very good.. ending could have been a bit better.

| Re: Generation Kill I'm reading the book just now, it's good as you get a more rounded sense of the characters, they don't seem quite as blood thirsty as they are in the tv series. Also I found it quite hard to tell who was who in the series, the problems of telling them apart are eliminated in the book. Tv series is still great though. |
