I'm travelling alone as well. So if they were to say, 'sorry son, can't take it with you', where would that leave me? I'd rather not put it in the hold but the other problem is that they only allow one item of luggage to be checked in. I think it best if I try and get someone who'll let me borrow one.

If you're travelling transatlantic or long haul, it's usually 2 pieces of checked luggage..

I know BA might say that as your first flight is domestic, you can only have one, but tell them to fuck off..

Your ticket info should have baggage allowances on it..
