| Lebanon, anyone? A bit of a long shot, but has anyone ever been to Lebanon? Is it good? I quite fancy Beirut.

| Re: Lebanon, anyone? Aye, Lebanon was fine a few years ago but since the 2006 war pretty much all governments are advising against all non-essential travel until further notice. Quote: |

| Re: Lebanon, anyone? My cousins just back from Beirut. And when I say just back he was due to head on to Jordan afterwards but an unfortunate accident in a coffee shop seen him end up in hospital and on a plain home 3 days later.
He's currently trying to go back though as he says he's never been in a friendlier place. He ended up putting his hand through a glass door and knackering all the ligaments and was swiftly whisked off to hospital where they treated him and then papped him off to the local american hospital up the road before flying him home. Every day he was in hospital the coffee shop sent him wee food parcels to see him through the day!
He didnt go with any package tour though. He's part of that network where you post on the internet that folk can sleep on your couch and in return other folk let you sleep on theirs. All in He paid a couple hundred pounds for a flight out to turkey and bused it the rest of the way round the area for pennies. |
