| Re: Camden This whole 'the train is quicker' is simply untrue. I've done both several times and it's just false.
You only have to be at the airport an hour before the flight, the flight (Gla - London) is one hour and (depending on where you're going in London) one hour after the flight to get to where you're going (for me it's only half an hour after I get to Gatwick to get home).
i.e. total = 3 hours. Generally half the time it takes on the train. Plus, you still have the getting to where you're going after the train, so 7 hours-ish, and given most folk will be at the train station 30-45 mins before the train leaves, you're looking at closer to 8 hours all in, which, I think, it's longer than my previous estimate of 3 hours.

It takes me 20 mins on the bus into town from Yoker and then about 30 mins from Euston to Tooting. Much quicker than faffing about with trains from Stanstead or Gatwick. |

| Re: Camden Ok so that's 50 minutes. Plus the 6 hours (or, 4 hours minimum, if you're lucky) on the train itself.
I.e. still 4hr50mins MINIMUM. Which is still more than 3 hours (bearing in mind, i've given a 1 hour buffer AFTER the flight, however the train from Gatwick to Victoria is only half an hour).

| Re: Camden Thats fair enough but its far easier for me to get to Central than it is to get to any airports up here so I'll take the train every time. Its also cheaper for me given that I make the journey 2-3 times a month. Well, cheaper for my boyfriend cos he pays |

There's hardly any travelling.
I dunno who would turn up to a train station 45 minutes early.
Getting to an from airports is a pain in the cock.
I wouldn't ever say the train is faster, but it's infinitely more convenient.
Obviously depends exactl where your final destination is, but the extra hour or two is worth the drop in hassle and cost.
