| Prague - Suggestions for things to do/cheap accommodation. Right, just booked flights for 4 of us to go to Prague for a long weekend next month.
Has anyone got any suggestions for good hostels to stay in and things to see and do while we're there? |

Best basement bar - 70p pints and the SMORGASBORD breakfast/lunch. (Y)
Make sure you stay in the loft with all the other guests jam-packed with bunkbeds, but you can get 4/5/6 people private rooms aswell. Spent my 18th there, love |

| Re: Prague - Suggestions for things to do/cheap accommodation. Prague is beautiful, but can't remember where we stayed was a few years back. However, GO HERE: http://www.artgraphica.net/art-shop/...one-church.htm
Looks well cool, missed it when I was there.

| Re: Prague - Suggestions for things to do/cheap accommodation. Go to the big 6 floor Tesco and get 20 bottles of 500ml Stella for about £5. Or Mountain Dew. Buy some Gyros too as they are tasty as fuck.
Charles Bridge is pretty decent but there are some fucking mad nutjobs on that. Wenseleas (dunno how to spell it) Square is minted too. Don't go to a club called "Rock Club" either. Worst ever.
Theres ice hockeys games on you can see which is a worth a shout too.
Just having a wander about is quite good. Down by the side of the river is quite cool to walk down, some nice buildings and pubs and that.
No clue where to stay and that as we just rent a flat. Going back over in June. Cannae wait.
Watch out for people on crutches though. And i've heard the trams are quite bad for getting pickpocketed, so watch out for that.

| Re: Prague - Suggestions for things to do/cheap accommodation. If ye go up towards like north of the main bit and just across the river there is a great wee pub called Fraktal. Amazing food as well. Comix Bar in Karlova is a laugh as well, stays open til like 7am. Quality. The Jazz Bar just down a wee street up from the big Tesco is pretty good as well.
I'd stay away from Praha 9, unless there are any decent gigs on at the o2 Arena up there. its a shite area of town and a good jaunt away from the town centre.
I like walking down the river and that, you'll usually find some cracking wee places.
The Zoo is meant to be decent as well but ye know...Zoo doesn't do beer. Infact it might....
Try and get yerself to a Sparta Prague game as well. Or Slavia. Both teams are in the Europa League. There is bound to be a match in one of the grounds while yer there. Failing that, they are big on ice hockey.
This will be my first year of not going to Prague in 3 year. Missing it.
Might try and book for a wee trip in December.

Thanks for the info!
I've got tickets for the Slavia V Sparta derby on the 3rd and it's me birthday that day AND the Old Firm game. Should be an epic!!

| Re: Prague - Suggestions for things to do/cheap accommodation. Rangers games on the 4th mate
That week is massive. We play Aberdeen at home, Sevilla at home and then Celtic at home. In the space of 8 days. Roll on.
Jealous of ye going to that derby game! Who ye sitting with? I prefer Sparta over Slavia.

| Re: Prague - Suggestions for things to do/cheap accommodation. My mate i'm going with is sorting out the tickets so i'm not too sure but Slavia are playing at home so i'd imagine we'll be in with them. I'm just looking for a good game of footy and a good atmosphere, i prefer Sparta too but not enough to really care. Roll on October!

| Re: Prague - Suggestions for things to do/cheap accommodation. Jammy cunt. The beer over there is fantastic. Even if the heads on the beer are about an inch
OH go to The Pub mate, if ye haven't already been. Sit at a table with yer own beer tap and ye just all have a number and pour yerself pints and it counts it up and ye pay when ye leave. On certain nights they have compititions where you compete against other tables and the winning table gets like 25% aff their bill. I drank like 6 in a hauf litres of beer in 2 hours in there. Steaming and it was only like 3pm.
