2 miles up the west highland way is the Falls of Falloch. Amazing for a swim

My favourite site is Glen More campsite. http://www.scottishcampingguide.com/link.php?c=&n=226

If you get good weather it's amazing. You are near Aviemore and the Cairngorms, the site has it's own little shop/mountain bike hire and the Loch has an artificial beach!

Loch Lubnaig has a few nice wee spots with lovely beachy bits. Hope you've got your waterproofs packed!

Re: Camping in Scotland?

If you stay at a camp site it's not camping. Facilities of any kind is cheating.

Re: Camping in Scotland?

If you ever go camping further north, you should try sligihan campsite on the Isle of Skye, the whole island is gorge but thats a great campsite!!
It has a pub/kids playground across from it and it has a bunkerhouse etc

Re: Camping in Scotland?

Can I ask a question, are you allowed to set up camp anywhere or are there restrictions? jsut curious, its something I've always wondered. Like if someone went a drive up the Campsies could you set your tent up wherever you fancies, for example.

Re: Camping in Scotland?

Glenshee, about half way in between the ski centre and Braemar is good, but the good spots are quite popular.
