| Winter Breaks My better half and I have decided we'd quite fancy a wee break away somewhere nice in January/February time as our Crimbo present to each other. We're looking at a city break for about three nights, but are at a bit of a loss of where to go. Prague and Amsterdam always seem to have good deals, and Berlin seems like it might be nice, but does anyone have any recommendations? Is there anywhere which is extra-nice in winter?
And where's hot-ish at that time of year if we're sick of the British weather?

| Re: Winter Breaks Me & my mum are thinking of going away in January. I'd like to go somewhere that there's a fair bit too see to keep us occupied. I was thinking Rome, but it'd just be for a weekend, but I didn't realise how long the flight would be & it's a transfer from either Amsterdam or London which kinda puts me off |

| Re: Winter Breaks At the moment we're thinking of embracing the winter and picking somewhere we know full well will be a bit rainy and miserable. Might have a swatch of Ryanair and see where they fly to. I'd rather avoid summery locations like Spain, Italy and Croatia though. Quote:

Where ya going anyway? I haven't been away skiing/snowboarding for a few years now and was considering it this year/early next year.

Went to La Plagne last year (next valley over from Les Arcs) this year as my brother was working out there, but I'll go anywhere this year. |

I found Berlin to be very friendly and I'd no shortage of things to see and do. Getting around the place is dead easy as well. I flew from Berlin Schoenefeld to Glasgow Int with Easyjet, pretty cheap too if I remember. (under £50 one way).
Aye, I'd totally recommend it. |
