#1 | | Guest | Papier Mâchè I'm really bored, and keen to try and entertain Findlay cheaply during the Summer holiday, and I thought about making papier mâchè piggy banks.
Problem is, last time I tried it with a houseful of 8 year olds, my papier mâchè didn't dry at all and I was left with 6 soggy balloons and a kitchen floor covered in wallpaper paste and newspaper. I'm looking for hints on how to make my papier mâchè a bit better, and also any ideas on stuff to make out of it rather than the bogstandard boring piggy banks.
Thanks in advance | |

Drop me a PM and if you want..... | I've actually got a book I bought from the club at work - Neil Buchanan's Amazing Art Attack stuff - I wouldn't want to borrow something you've had since you were a kid in case something damaged it but thank you very much for the offer.
In the meantime, I'm on the lookout for rubbish. I need half a dozen polystyrene cups (the kind you get your tea in at greasy spoon cafes), 2 or 3 quality street or roses boxes (not celebrations, I need them not to have the plastic bit) and ping pong balls | |

| Re: Papier Mâchè dont use papermache use PVA glue. Cheap in stationary box or early learning centre and dries quicker.

| Re: Papier Mâchè Layer the strips of newspaper that you have dipped in a PVA water mix. It will dry (especially if you leave it outside on a sunny day) and it is fine to paint over with poster paint. You can get the bottles of poster paint in the pound shop. |
