A plea for help from all you arty people!

Hey all,

I need your help. During my holiday in Venice I seen some Salvatore Dali style clocks for sale, and totally loved them. My parents were on the holiday and bought one for my 21st birthday present on the 6th September. Due to the shitty terrorists fucking up airline travel we weren't allowed to take it on the plane as hand luggage, and we weren't going to chance putting it in our baggage as it would get tossed around and broken. So we had to purchase it and export it to the UK.

Well, today it arrived - in pieces. The clock has been destroyed and is irreplaceable. Fucking Italian bastarding post fucks. We did have postal insurance, so should get the money back, but it's beside the points since I loved the clock and was really looking forward to getting it for my bday. So I'm wondering if anybody here knows of places in the UK where you can purchase these style clocks? I couldn't find any on eBay or through Google.

It's in the style of the clock I have circled in white, and it was a black and silver clock.

I know it's not the end of the world - it was only a clock, but I was really looking forward to getting it so it blows that it got knackered.

yeah no i totally understand/appreciate ur disappointment

there was a shop near me that used to sell tonnes of interesting ornaments and arty clocks and things but its been gone a good 6 years at least now anyways

there's a place in milngavie called "cute" thats got cool ornamental things and can order stuff in and a place in clydebank called "metropolitan" that does similar things - either of them might be able to point u in a better direction maybe?

have u tried googling clock shops - i know it sounds silly tho

one of the soft clocks from persistance of memory yeah?
there was a uk company selling them, along with other dali statues ect. one of my mates has a link for them. ill try find it for you.
other option is to check out the dali museum based in spain.

Will try get a screenshot of it sometime, I'm at my flat in Edinburgh whilst it got posted to my parents house. My dad is attempting to fix it, which fills me with some hope as he's shit hot at all forms of DIY, however he hastened to inform me that "it looks like a piece of shit" which coming from him is not good news lol.
