http://knittingtips.com/

emails you a mini knitting course for beginners. not sure how great it is though.

I'm going to re-learn to knit again, and make myself a nice scarf, hat, gloves and socks for winter hehe. I used to do it when I was younger, back when my granny taught me [the original and best away to learn how to knit ]

Re: Knitting Links

I just meant wee beanies and maybe stripes. don't think I could handle a skull and crossbones pattern quite yet (although I like the scarf), but I think I could manage stripes.

Not into 'character' hats.

Skull and crossbones pattern is really just switching colours, and you get a chart to follow. It's not as hard as it looks. For a stripey scarf, I'd cast on 25 stitches with double knit and just stocking stitch it.

Double knitting weight yarn. Following a chart is easy, I'll go over it with you when I see you next.

WHAT?

Where do you learn all this stuff? I am so clueless. I think I might give up

I figured out how to add the other colour btw, and it was for a stripe.
