#1 | | Guest | Learning how to spin A few folk I know through knitting have been talking about spinning and how it's a dying art and very few folk still spin their own yarns. I looked into it and got quite interested and now I'm going all the way to Fife on September 23rd to get a lesson on spinning with a drop spindle in the morning, and then tuition in the afternoon on spinning with a wheel.
The drop spindle spinning class is from 10am-12pm in Fife, and costs £14 with materials provided, and since the train fare works out fairly expensive, I'll be driving which leaves 4 spaces free in my car if anyone would be interested in coming along with me. The website for the Fife shop is here if you want to read through it. Otherwise, I'll be posting pictures and my resulting work when I get back | |

| Re: Learning how to spin I would love it...but this month is a financial no-no for me.
I'd really like to do the crochet with wire tho...and it would be just in time for making Christmas presents too.

In a strange way, it looks quite appealing to me, but there is no way I'd keep it up, so I'd be taking up a space better used by someone who would be able to put their new found skills to good use. I did spinning in school for one of our (many) projects and it really is quite interesting.

If you want to come along you'd be more than welcome as long as there are places available on the class. Quote:
