OK. I have a Yamaha SHS-10 keytar and the corner where the strap connector would normally be attached has cracked off. I do not have the part which came off as the keyboard isn't mine. Is there any way of fixing it? Perhaps even by using fibreglass (paging RevScapegoat)?
Also, what would be the best way of painting it a new colour? Would I have to sand it first? Spray paint?

Got pics?
Depends how good you want it to look. If it just needs to be functional, I'd bolt a metal plate on.
As for painting - Depending on what type of plastic the shell's made from, Halfords is probably your best bet.
Strip the thing down, give it a light sand with a fairly high grit sandpaper then spray a coat of primer, then a few light overcoats to build up your final colour.
Or, if you can find them, a few companies ( Krylon, Plastikote etc ) do spraypaints specifically for such jobs - Do NOT use a primer with these as it defeats the purpose.

Whatever you do is ilkely to not be strong enough to attach the strap connector to. Could be embarassing to have it fall off while you’re rocking out on stage one night.
I’d recommend reattaching the strap connector further down, on a piece of the original casing.
Dunno about the rest though. Personally, I’d go with Duct Tape. Keep it ghetto, yo.

^ Hence me suggesting bolting on a plate for the strap.

Aye, I typed that before your reply had appeared.

Have it surgically attached to you, avoiding the need for a strap.
Naturally you'll need to perfect your Steven Hawking voice as you blur the distinction between man and machine.

Almost, hehe. It's interfaced with my Atari ST's YM chip. I have a strap connector. Now I need to find a plate and a drill. Ho hum!

Haha. I saw that when the postman delivered it.
The connector is now attached and all is well. Although, I still want to paint it baby blue.
Huzzah!
