Totally of subject but what is the deal with that shit. I fucking get that any time I get the cold. Pure flying towards a wall of blocks made from crude F22 Interceptor style polygons.

Personally i'd rather fork out a fair bit of money for something that's taken abit of time to produce than a bit of mass produced tit tat that was created on a computer anyday!
Computer generated stuff can take just as long (if not longer) than using a brush on canvas

Re: art is dead!

urgh, poorly articulated thread starter ahoy from me there.

Basically we've to write an essay on his statement of art being to express thoughts and feelings (in particular trad. art mediums) and how successful we think they are (or not)

Combine this with my "I've been sitting here for hours completely fucking stuck with what to draw all the bastards using CS in my class have had their stuff finished with uber speed" and you get the thread starter above.

Anyway, I'd like to think it's not dead.

...just a little infuriating at times.

Re: art is dead!

If you don't have the inspiration to create something on paper you'd be just as stuck staring at CS.

Thats one reason I don't like art education; creativity on demand just doesnt happen

Re: art is dead!

nah not really, it's more the I have to draw everything by hand loads of times on varying different scales throughout the development whereas the CS bastards only have to draw it once and resize bit that's irking me somewhat.

ah well, least they can't skive when it comes to screen printing again
