Im creating some icons for ubuntu, based on a visual style i saw today on deviantart : http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/47933356/

Im thinking of changing the INET text to FFOX, not sure yet.

I like the geometrical design and the solid, bold lines. I think they'd work really well on a mobile device.

* Mail and Inet: I'm not too keen on serif fonts on screen (and it's inconsistent with the Home icon) and I think they should be visually different, even without any text present.
* They're all quite abstract apart from the printer one, which doesn't seem to fit in with the theme?
* Is the 'Home' text needed, if the icon will always say 'Home' underneath anyway?
* The broken line in USB to me suggests some form of wireless connection...

Decent attempt anyway. Good icons are difficult.

The font on the inet and mail icons were a temporary choice at the time, i might use the same one on the home icon. I wanted to have the home icon to be different from the rest of the folders. its not really neccesary i agree. Ill have a think about that a bit more. I want something that stands out for the home icon.

I can see what you're saying about the wireless, i was originally going to look at the official usb icon, but it didn't really fit.

Im still not sure about the firefox and thunderbird icons, but ive redone some of the others to bring them into line a bit more. (ive not done the orange version yet).
