Photoshop Colour Replacement

OK, this is probably really simple.. but I've no idea how to do it.

I've got a three colour image, Black-White-Blue. I want to take all the blue out and replace it with red. It's all solid colour, no half tones or shades. Problem is it's a bit 'splattered'.

Looking for a way to replace the colour easily without having to spend hours highlighting each blob of blue and changing it by hand.

Greg linked me to THIS page, but I dont seem to have the 'color replacememnt tool' in any of the tabs in my toolbox.

Photoshop 7.0 on a Mac.

I need VERY simple instructions.

Re: Photoshop Colour Replacement

Have you tried clicking on the paintbrush tool and holding down the mouse button until you get a dropdown menu? Failing that, hit shift+B a few times.

If the colour replacement tool's missing in v7.0, try Image>Adjustments>Replace Colour, click the eyedropper on the colour you want to replace, and then play with the Hue slider until it's where you want it.

In fact, if it's only black and white otherwise, you could just hit Ctrl+U (Cmd+U on a Mac?) and use the Hue slider there.

Re: Photoshop Colour Replacement

i wouldve suggested the hue/saturation tool
press Ctrl+u (or image>adjustments>hue/saturation) then muck about with the Hue, see if that works

Re: Photoshop Colour Replacement

That'll certainly do what you need.

The "colour replacement tool" hadn't appeared even by version 8 it seems, although "Replace colour" should be in the IMAGE > ADJUSTMENTS menu and would work exactly the same way as just doing it via the hue slider in Hue/Saturation.

At the risk of complicating things, if the rest of the image weren't just Black and White, you could change the colour of just the blue bit by selecting blue from the drop-down where it says "master" in the Hue/Saturation dialogue box.
