| Re: photoshop newbie I've never used a graphics tablet - I tried one on a friend's computer and didn't get on with it too well.
What sort of things do you want to do with it? I love Photoshop for image manipulation but I think there are better programs for making stuff from scratch, although admittedly my favourite - Painter - is very old now!
The best hint I can think of is: no matter how fun all the filters look at first, don't overuse them, you'll look back and cringe further down the line if you do!

| Re: photoshop newbie i dunno exactly what i wanna do. i have saw some photoshop stuff drawings and that, that looks cracking but as for exactly what i want to do im not sure.
Id rather just actually draw it but would like a rough idea of what it looks like. Kinda like a more proffesional sketch of an idea.
Things i like though are photo manipulation, like cutting people in or out of photo's, hiding blemishes adding new features etc that are in my photo's but also quickly getting ideas down for drawing up later. I also would like to be able to do some comic book idea's and signatures for websites etc.
Fuck, big question i guess. Just need some basic stuff to get me started and im sure my idea's and stuff will narrow down when i get into the actual program and mess about with it.
I think i need a scanner to put drawings into photoshop so i can post em. Im not really the biggest technical person in the world when it comes to stuff like this so im pretty much lost.
But yeah, any advice even on some stuff that could come in handy would be mint. Or even a few ideas of the equipment you guys have and what you guys like to do with it. |

A decent mouse (a laptop touch pad a pain in the arse - trust me) and lots and lots of playing about and practicing is pretty much the best way to learn |
