| My Latest Photomanip (am rather chuffed) My Dying Bride
What do you lot think? I know it's a somewhat predictable and cliched idea, but I'm pretty chuffed with the way it turned out. I wasn't really expecting much.
Also, feel free to have a wee wander through my gallery. |

| Re: My Latest Photomanip (am rather chuffed) There's a lot of grain in the top that's a bit distracting,, as is the overly brightened white area to the right, plus I think the darker area is just a little too dark, though the detail in i t looks a lot better.
Was the source image one you took or one found online?
The idea is not bad though, a tad cliche aye, but we all start somewhere, keep at it |

I got the orignal image as a stock image on Deviant Art, since I'm too poor/cheap to buy me a camera and use me some proper models at the mo.

| Re: My Latest Photomanip (am rather chuffed) I was only winding you up, by the way. Well handled. I actually think it's pretty cool, although admittedly know fuck all about doing this kind of thing.
Like you said, you're maybe focusing on the contrast too much... The stark difference between the light bit and the dark bit seems a ltitle "sudden", it might be cooler if there was a more gradual fade?

| Re: My Latest Photomanip (am rather chuffed) Shoudn't be too hard to tinker with, assuming you work with layers instead of directly onto the base image. If you don't work with layers, start doing that now, and watch as life becomes so much happier. |

| Re: My Latest Photomanip (am rather chuffed) Layers are a tricky topic - I've sort of learned photoshop on my own over the years, but the tutorials for layers are just too distressingly dull.

| Re: My Latest Photomanip (am rather chuffed) Oh god yeah, I love layers. Couldn't do anything without them. Even for the simplest wee photoshop crap I end up using far too many layers. (If that's possible.) I guess it's better to be able to merge later than wish you'd made seperate layers earlier... or something. |
