| Re: Taxidermy. My first try I wouldn't mind ordering acrylic eyes for the first few larger mammals I'll work on (eventually), if only for the sake of keeping the costs down. But yeah, glass is generally better for the shine and wet look of it.

I kinda need to know where you guys wouldn't object to pictures going. Ideally they'd be in the creative arts gallery (or this thread), but I know some folk might not like that. Should I maybe start another poll about where to put the pictures?

It's dead animals.
Another poll would just be attention seeking, and we don't want that.

Foam forms can be used for larger mammals (I think a stoat form is the smallest available). The skin is removed from the animal and overlaid on a 'form' either pre bought or custom made, and then pinned in place to be allowed to dry off. I'll be taking measurements: nose tip to eye, circumference of the neck, shoulder to shoulder ect to make sure any form I buy or make fits the animal it will be used for (not for the rat tho). Then it's just a case of stitching the incisions closed again. Quote:

The rodents I have at the moment are snake food, bought from a petshop. When I step up to squirrels, stoats ect the supplier of the bits and bobs I need like clamps, eyes, needles, surgical stuff will be able to provide. He's sent animal stock from people who have farms who trap and kill farmland vermin. Quote:
