What are your plans for this summer? Were you thinking of going away? Were you thinking of staying at home? Were you thinking of being involved in a Glasgow based short movie detailing the very rapid rise and fall of an acid tongued rock star who finds out never to look a gift horse in the mouth while taking the Lord's name in vain?
Mixed metaphors aside, if you are reading this, it is because you are most probably smart, talented, intuitive, committed, comely and interesting. Well done so far
We are looking for individuals with the above merits to express the extent of their abilities, by way of audition, for the short film "Force Majeure", a modern morality tale about a jaded rock star on the rocky road to martyrdom.
We are currently auditioning for several key parts in this short film. As follows:-
Johnny Yen:- A famous rock star at the height of his fame and power, dancing lost in penthouse alienation and lazy self loathing
Cath Markham:- Johnny's demure, professional, corporate power suited lawyer..
Elle:- The cynics would call her a groupie. The optimists would call her a muse. She calls herself a model/actress. Johnny calls her a mattress.
We also require several cool looking extras to form the band, hangers on and crowd for a concert scene.
The overall concept for Force Majeure is an edgy and stylish exploration of the doomed iconoclast genre, with a sharp psychedelic backlash. Sound good?
At present we are in pre production stage and holding auditions throughout the month of June, with production slated for July. Although we would dearly love to, we cannot afford to pay anyone for their participation in this fine endeavour. However, showreels, credits, portfolio inclusions and any other benefits we can make available will be yours for the taking.
Due to some of the themes and content of the script (sex, drugs, rock, roll), we do not feel it is appropriate to openly submit it for perusal here.
