Last night I decided to start a bit of a new project, so here is what it is...
What better thing to write about than what you know? And I know that I've done a lot of regrettable things in my past. I've done things that hurt people (mentally, not physically), I've done things that hurt myself (mentally and physically) and I've done things that hurt my life.
I'd love to say that I made up for all the things that I did, but that would be a lie. Some things I'll probably never get to even apollogise for as I'm no longer in contact with the people involved. So I guess this is a great big sorry to the world, whether it knows it, cares or even notices.
With that in mind I've decided to produce some experimental musical pieces all based around the theme of regret. They may not be short, they may not be good, they'll probably not even be taken any notice of by anyone, and they'll be instrumentals.
With any luck they won't turn out like a pile of arty wank, with some luck they'll turn out slightly arty, with a lot of luck they won't turn out wanky. Who knows. I had to write this first as the idea is the first brick. I shall be aiming for 10 pieces but if I don't manage that many then "sorry" in advance to anyone who may find the idea interesting.
So let's see what happens eh? Maybe 10 pieces themed on the future will come next.

I've been thinking about the nature of this project and come to the conclusion that it would be interesting to get more than one take on the regret theme, a visual one to go along with the audio.
So, with that in mind, I'm looking for any interested filmmakers that might be interested in making a regret themed video to go along with any of the tracks. Not in a pop promo way, unless that's how you want to do it, but your own interpretation of the notion of regret behind each track. Since regret is often mixed with "but without that, I wouldn't have ended up with..." I have intentionally decided not to make the whole thing too gloomy. There are always chances to see hope or opportunity.
If all 10 tracks are made and each ends up with a video then perhaps they could even be edited together into a film of some sort. As I have no intention of selling the music I would also have no intention of selling any film that was submitted either. If a film was completed then it would be given away and full credit given to all participants (including a link to your website if you wanted).
