Even at £200/day, that's still only 40 people @ £5 each. Though I guess you have to add in advertising and electricity/etc. Advertise it for free at AN/DN for 2/3 weeks before it

*"donations please" bucket at the door? | places like Offshore and the 13th put on exhibitions for free though for a small period of time. So I'm sure you could find somewhere much cheaper than 200 quid a day. Granted they're only small venues, but you get the idea. I can imagine going through an existing venue or establishment of some kind with space is going to be far cheaper than going totally out on a limb and getting your own space. |

I've got a fair few drawings kicking about.
Bet theres a fair few folk who dont put their stuff on here that would do some stuff for it.

| Re: Would people be interested in a AN Art show? What would folks prefer?
Limit to one piece from each individual to involve as many folks as can be or choose a handful of artists and let them feature a selection.
Also no one has mentioned the jewellers on AltNation, almost all venues & spaces can be suitable for pics and pieces. Quote:

Sponsoring is best

Run an online exhibition in tandem with it. Whip up a nicely-presented slideshow that pulls images from a folder in the old AN gallery and features a biography and ‘email me/buy now’ link for each artist. If non-invited AN members want in on the arty action, their stuff goes in the online show and not the physical one—because that can be as big as you like, nae bother.

| Re: Would people be interested in a AN Art show? Would it not be better to get as many folk as possible who are interested, discuss it further and then see who is still interested, because with dates/other commitments, etc, there are bound to be folk that cant do it, so you want to get as high a number of folk as possible? And they could have a small 'stall' or 'area' each to showcase their stuff?
Maybe you could have (Lyn?) have her rockmylobster stall, or anyone else that has a wee business? Does Pamela still have a wee business? Then again, she hasnt been on here for years?
...or are you wanting to make it a more narrow night of purposely AN art?
