Go for it. The good thing is that you can be potentially viewed by millions of shoppers, so there's always folk going to look at your work. Out of all the things I've had to sell on ebay three didn't, and that was because I withdrew them myself. There is a buyer for everything out there.

and if nothing else you can put reserves on anything over 50 quid. granted it costs a couple of quid, but it means you're not selling for less than 50 or a sum you're happy with. If it doesn't sell it's free to relist anyway. that's certainly the way I'd go about it.

Re: Selling your art on ebay?

I've thought about it before but then decided against it after watching several other pieces go for very little. Also I wouldn't know how to post anything of substantial size...does a 60x40cm canvas just count as a packet? I guess it's just something you gotta look into.

Re: Selling your art on ebay?

Vonnie just told me about a site called Etsy. Its for selling handcrafted goods. People on Ebay want stuff for pennies.

Aye, Barry I'd have a look at etsy, dawanda and folksy before I'd ever contemplate using ebay. You'll have a dedicated audience who are actively looking for artworks plus the fees are far more reasonable than eBays.

Re: Selling your art on ebay?

Also check out Big Cartel.

None of these specialised places can compete with eBay’s audience size though.

Mo says avoid eBay like the plague (he would post himself but he's using his laptop to watch X Factor).
