Paintings that I've done...2009
I attended the opening night for Kirky's annual art exhibition last night, and I handed in a painting as usual.



This bad boy, at size A1, is 4 times bigger than my usual work (it's my biggest yet), it's a one layer stencil (my "simplest" yet) and also took about 20+ hours sticking thousands of tiny pieces of masking tape to the canvas (my most time-consuming yet). It was taken from a photo I took of a derelict hotel during my jaunt to Transylvania; it has to be said, I took the most boring holiday snaps on the planet, walking around taking pictures of buildings. I was determined to turn one of them into a stencil...et voila.

I'm not entirely happy with it, as there's too much bleed for my liking. Serves me right for using year-old masking tape...

I had someone else say it makes it look like it's a blurred photo taken in a hurry or from a passing car...I could use/say that, but I don't like making excuses for mistakes.
