Will Young has a talented and unique voice. Its instantly recognisable on the radio and thats what a pop idol is being about.
Ppl say he cheated his way to the top.....well he didnt. All pop bands go thru the same process. This one was simply in a very grand scale and shoved on television.
ALL bands now are manufactured at some point.....even rock bands. U tour and write and tour and write.....then a record label comes along and gets u signed. U then get foto's taken, advised on ur image and often given one....marketed to the public thru certain schemes on the internet, magazines, radio etc etc. In the exact same way.
I dont agree with pop idol in the same way as i get pissed off with rock record companies......its a business tryin to make money.
But either way, i hav nuthin agaisnt the artists. I dont beleive will young is out to make cash int he same way rock bands are.
He works extremely hard. he is put unbder great media strain and has to appear day in day out for marketing campaigns and gigging. Its harder than u think.
If he had come up thru palyin in abrs and worked his way to the top would u respect him? The problem is that its jsut not possible nowadays.
its the records companies u gotta blame....not the artists
