The Great Gatsby?

I just finished reading The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald and I was not impressed by it at all. I can't believe this is a text that is studied @ Higher English because I cannot see anything worthy of mention in the entire book.

Am I missing out on something here?

Help Ma Bobson!! I did that for Higher English as well!! ur right..I didn't find it to be of Higher standard to be honest, I liked the party description though, and when Nick said: "...a hundred pairs of slippers shuffled the shining dust" and, haha, when Gatsby asked Nick, "So, whats ur opinion of me anyhow?" Nick: "I don't know..I've never really thought about it" lol

Anyway sorry, the themes of irony, dishonesty, infedelity, etc, were too blatant to appreciate, and the language was at times too old-fashioned since it was written about 80 years ago and all.Everyone must read "Stargirl" by Jerry Spinelli, its amazing. It teaches you about real individuality and how magic it is.

er..thats my waffling over for today. (and a sigh of relief heaves through the land)

The worst thing was I didn't read it for Higher English (I did the dreaded Sunset Song which was worse) I had to read it on my own.

Still thought it was pants though
