| What Is Art what would u class as art thses days, something that u would find nice to look at or a 1000 ppl. would u class things as art if it looked like the things that were made about 100/200 to 300 years.
casue the way i see it, ppl dont class a lot of new things as art becasue they dont look or are made by the sort of ppl who did it back then. well when u think of it, back then a lot of the stuff they were doing was new and never seen before. (yes i do know a lot of new things are just crap, but i mean the things that means something to u, or touched u in some way).
right i hope u get what i mean, if not just leave the thread.
another way of this point is. art class:
doing nothing really just drawing on paper, when the teacher comes another and says. " oh, wait a min jonathan. u cant draw a line lke that or have that colure there.... etg.....
like where in the world can u say what the fuck art is meant to look like. casue if there was about 200 years ago, we wound have not of see the kind of change in art culture as we have.
if someone understands, bring up ur point and please do not atack what ive said. just, tok now kids |

| To me art is a way of expressing all of my innermost feelings and emotions. There are no rules to art. Art is the artists emotions and is meant to look like what that individual artists chose to make it looke like. I do art at school and i must be fairly lucky but the art teachers don't really interfere with our work. Sometimes they will show us techniques, etc but for most of the time we r on our own and free to express ourselves in any way we wish.
All artists even although their styles may be similar add their own unique touch to the work of art they produce.
Look at H.R Giger for example (the picture above is a good example). He introduced a new, never been seen before style which combines biological and industrial features to produce dark and heavy almost with a gothic touch artwork that inspired various other types of art.
Salvador Dali is another artist who revolusionised the surrealist image and caused a great change in the art world. Many artists have tried to use his eccentric and ecclectic style and although they r similar they also feature the artists own individual styles and techniques.
I understand what you mean about what is art supposed to look like, but it isn't supposed to look like anything. It is supposed to reflect the artist's emotions.

I'd typed something along those lines but i thought "IMHO Art basically mean's an individual's means of expression, whether it be through a painting, a song etc" saved a lot of reading time.

| Speaking of H.R Giger he designed the creature for the Alien movies and also popularized the Bio-Mechanical tattoo movement.
