| ones That I can remember just now....
Soul Music, Wyrd Sisters, Witches Abroad - Terry Pratchett (most Terry Pratchett actually)
Espedair Street - Iain Banks
The Virgin Suicides - arg, can't remember just now
Breakfast at Tiffany's - Truman Capote (much better than film)
And loads of other books people wouldn't consider 'literature' but that I love cos they give my brain a rest, like Marian Keyes stuff. |

| It would be too difficult a task to choose my favourite books, but my favourite authors are Robert Rankin, Christopher Brookmyre and Douglas Adams. Ooh, Evelyn Waugh and P.G.Wodehouse as well.
It actually amazes me the number of people who don't know where 'Ask Jeeves' came from. |

| D Edding's Sparhawk and Belgarion novels basically follow the same storys but they are good none the less.
I read T Goodkind's stuff totally by chance and was amazed...beats Eddings hands down storywise but Eddings wins over with his characterisation.
There was another novel I was going to add to my list but for the life of me I cannot remember it or who it is by. Its about a group of humans that get transfered either to the future or another world where they are enslaved my a race of apelike creatures and they have to wear metal torques around their neck...they escape and fight back and discover strange things about what they can do with the torques. Strangely compelling story but its old..mid 80's maybe? I'll try and find out. |
