| Re: A question about stickers? What kind do you want? Like label type stickers, or vinyl type stickers. The vinyl ones are usually what most signed bands and hand out, and the label ones are the kind you see stuck on cistern lids in sleazys

it all depends really on cost and ease

| Re: A question about stickers? im after a few designs
A. one for advertising my web comic
B. My friends going traveling and i was going to give him "world tour" stickers as a gift.
How many? im unsure, i know its a cop out answer but i generally dont know how many comes in a batch.
I would be paying.
Design wise i would like something in an interesting shape, the designs havent been done yet, i was gonna tackle that once i had an idea of cost/manufacture, but i would settle for a label type but would prefer something more interesting for both designs. the web comic one would be black and white but the tour one i would like to be in colour.

| Re: A question about stickers? I make jewellery to sell on ebay, and i put them on cards with a sticker on. I made mine by getting the sticky sheets of a4 paper and running it through the printer. windows xp has a printing wizard where you can choose to print out something like 6, 9, 15 or 30 of the same image all over the page. Then I get a guillotine thing and slice em up.
Not very fancy, but you could pretend they're just meant to have 'character'. |

| Re: A question about stickers? If you're professionally printing stickers then you're dealing in quantities of thousands.
You don't want that for your mate's trip abroad, I assume.
You can either buy label sheets for your printer at home and cut them out by hand, or you can get a photocopy shop to run out some colour ones for you - in quantities from tens up to hundreds. They won't cut them to a shape for you - you're getting rectangles or nothing, I'm afraid.
If you were doing a run of 'real' stickers then cutting to a shape would mean die-cutting, which adds an extra couple of hundred quid to your total production cost because the die needs to be manufactured.
For advertising your webcomic, same deal.
You might be better off going to some sort of specialist, maybe even abroad - like Contagious Graphics, who have set shapes and set colour options, enabling them to offer small runs because they print stickers for fifty clients at a time on the same rolls.

| Re: A question about stickers? Yep.
Bear in mind though that they will be home-made... they'll tear, the ink will run in the rain, and so on.
Still... it doesn't sound like you really want to be paying out for professional printing or needing the numbers that would involve, so aye - just making your own is likely to be your best option.
