| Re: Favourite Album Cover [lots of images - dialup beware] John Dyer Baizley (also of Baroness) has had a prolific 12 months:
Baroness - The Red Album
Pig Destroyer - Phantom Limb
Cursed - III: Architects Of Troubled Sleep
Skeletonwitch - Beyond The Permafrost
Darkest Hour - Deliver Us
I've cheated a bit and put up the original, un-tampered with art here, but none of them suffer too gravely from the intrusion of logos, and Cursed and Baroness covers are totally unchanged.

Every time.
Iron Maiden's A Matter Of Life And Death is a topper as well.
I'd say Maiden have the best covers. Also the best merch. Hands fucking down.

| Re: Favourite Album Cover [lots of images - dialup beware] You can pick pretty much any Black Flag and stick it up here. Pettibon is/was a genius.

^^^ Maiden sure have a lot of great covers.
Obvious choice but I love Sgt Pepper's, partly because it was the first album I ever owned. The included cut-out moustache / sgt stripes etc was a stroke of genius.
More recently... LemonJelly's Lost Horizons is just beautiful, on vinyl it's a big gatefold affair that looks like this:

I love the photoshopping skills in this one..
speaking of photoshopping, was this madonna a stand in or did they really take the time to photoshop her?
if it was photoshopped, I wish to study this person.
I can't find the rest of the album covers that I favor, so I'll post again later. |
