the important thing is to be interested in (and ideally pretty knowledgeable about) music.
pressing the PLAY button is pretty easy, and while yeah some technical skills can help a bit, what you play is 99% of whether people have a good night. so really it's a question of finding someone who understands what the target market likes hearing in clubs, and owns or has stolen from the internet those CDs!

Could be why they've sneakily said its a competition and not actually a job. You could *win* a dj spot in the catty and not get paid. It suddenly reminds me of 5/6 years ago when someone else started there.. | |

(i presume) whoever ends up doing it won't be employed, they'll be paid as a self-employed person and engaged as an artiste on a recurring basis so i don't think that CPL have to worry about that in quite the same way.
