| PHPBB or SMF Doing a website for uni and i want to add a msg board to it, thing is no idea which is best. ive got these 2 forums on my hosting acount. Which is best?

| Re: PHPBB or SMF PHPBB is widely used and free and I've herads it's decent no idea about SMF I must be out of the loop but never heard of it. If it was a paying thing I'd go for vBulletin or perhaps Invision Boards.

| Re: PHPBB or SMF Im sure thats simple machines forum, scripts written in PHP and uses a MySQL database backend, this is the extent of my knowledge.

| Re: PHPBB or SMF Had heard of PHP before but not the SMF one, think am gonna go with PHP theres quite a bit community using it and seem that the lates free version is quite good.

| Re: PHPBB or SMF I've always used PHPBB but after being hacked twice in the space of 8 months the site I used it on has changed over to SMF. I can't say I'm impressed with its facilities but if it stops the site being hacked I'll live with it. |

| Re: PHPBB or SMF I used to always use phpbb and it was quite good. I kept getting hacked though so tried SMF and I am very impressed. It is excellent and you can add mods etc to it very easily. I also haven't been hacked once since I tried it. |
