| Dentist My usual dentist has left the practice so I got another dentist today n he gave me a jag right up the back of my mouth then started drilling the tooth next to my incisor, when I mumbled 'ouch ' he was like 'it's ok, I wont do any more drilling I'll just finish it with this' n started chipping away at my tooth with some mad stabby thing, I dont want to go back to that dentist now, ever! Does anyone know of any good NHS dentists around cumbernauld/glasgow?

| Re: Dentist I'll ask in here seeing as it's on the topic - I'm sure I read on here that someone went to the dentist and got something else that wasn't a jag so that they could get a tooth out or something. I can't remember if it was some kind of gel or something but if anyone knows what it is, can you let me know?
My mum is terrified of the dentist but needs a tooth out and refuses to go cos of the jag so if I can tell her about an alternative way, that would be good. |

| Re: Dentist it is a great thing - i will find the name of it for you but your dentist should offer an option of sedation to you. of course they do have to do health checks and i was surrounded by my dentist, nurse who had to keep checking i was ok through it and had to be initiated by the head dentist of the practic but it is worth it.
Because of manys phobias of dentists it is quite a common solution ask your dentist about it because it has put my mind to rest that i will be sedated and dont feel a thing through anything they do |

| Re: Dentist ok, we are back with the dentist item
I have broken a wisdom tooth - i have had to change my dentist because hes too far away and never open when i need him.
So went to Cadden in Glasgow
I have no idea how much repairs or extractions cost. can someone give me a rough idea of what it can cost for either fillings or a tooth pulled out so i know i have enough or is there a way you can pay it up? im totally skint and i have a singing contest next week and i cant take this tooth cutting the crap out my cheek and causing discomfort! |

| Re: Dentist If you need a wisdom tooth out then cancel the singing contest as you'll look like a hamster and will barely be able to open your mouth with awidsom tooth extraction. I'd bear out the slicing til the competition is over methinks unless its really sore |

| Re: Dentist My mother's dentist sedates you as long as you have someone come pick you up. Its in shettleston but might be worth the trek as very nice and safe. I dislike dentists because of the money they can take from pepole. As working as a dental technician for 4 years you learn to dislike certain dentists because of their bad work. It was so bad I HAD to get out.

| Re: Dentist i have been sedated before and my mum has to be there, i cant face getting teeth pulled or any large amounts of work done without it which is creeping me out because i know that kind of sedation costs quite a pretty penny because they need a nurse to monitor your heart rate and a head dentist to ensure that the proceedure is being done correctly!
Worth it though - in the chair for 2 hours and felt like 10 mins, dentist was going mad cause i kept trying to talk to him allllllll the way through it, i briefly remember trying to sing to him |
