| Re: Get in shape for Christmas... I'm way too fragile for exercise, but i've started on scottish slimmers, without actually bothering to attend. my pal photocopied all their healthy gunk for me and their forum is helpful. i refuse to weigh myself for the next two weeks, then it's off to boots with my 25p every wednesday. when i feel a bit more reasonable, i'll start swimming and/or body pump again. gah. i blame bargain buckets.

| Re: Get in shape for Christmas... Well, now that Im back to uni its £20 weekly shopping budget.
And when you start deducting hair dye...
Food is a precious commodity. Lol. Nah, Im far far too good to myself when I live away from home. It's healthy enough, but I cant judge one person portions, and I cant bin the stuff! It must be eaten!!
But if I join the gym when I go back to Newcastle and start running the track and cycling to and from uni, hopefully I'll see improvements.

The fact you can stuff your face with fruit, salad and pasta helps! |

| Re: Get in shape for Christmas... Due to medication issues I'm off the drink for good (and even if I'm tempted I'll be under watchful eyes of others) and I'll need to take in plenty of walking for these limbs of mine. Budget cuts at home = more salad foods and stuff. I love that kind of thing anyway so not fussed
Non-smoker and don't do any of that drug carry on so that's a start also. I'm rarely sitting on my arse these days as college I'm awlays dicking about with heavy machinery (which technically I'm not supposed to be doing) so it keeps me on my toes . It's not about weight loss here, just keeping in shape and active.
Though I daresay it'll take some supreme effort from an unknown force to get me the hell away from my pizzas |

| Re: Get in shape for Christmas... is it just the pizzaness of pizza? or is it the cheese..? if you ask nicely most take aways will do you a veggie pizza without cheese...it's a bit more difficult to eat, but it's mainly the cheese or meat toppings that make it so yummy not the best choice if you want to lose weight.
mischeif, is your pals book weightwatchers? scotslim just allocates you an amount of checks per day based on your weight (1 check = 25 calories) , adds free foods (most veg) free fruit (2 pieces a day, or one banana - or small amounts of others) you can more or less choose what you eat - saving 'checks' for your reward night if you see fit. they also list the checks in most take away food, biscuits etc...it's more a process of re-education - eg you can have three digestive biscuits, or one digestive, one banana, a huge plate of veg soup and a roll, type stuff.

| Re: Get in shape for Christmas... I'm absolutely terrified of the scales, but i know i have to, because then i'll perceive the weight coming ff quicker (or indeed, not...) than by tape measure and clothing loosness alone.

| Re: Get in shape for Christmas... If possible I'm renewing my gym membership tomorrow and aiming to get back swimming 3 times a week. Developed a taste for beer this summer and have subsequently gained a 4 pound beer (and burger and cake) belly. Aiming to get rid of about 8-14 pounds before my 21st in December

| Re: Get in shape for Christmas... It's not so much my weight, though if I could lose a stone soley on my ass, and gain half a stone on my chebs I'd be well chuffed! lol
I think I really just need to tone everything up. Too much wobbles and not in a good way. I could safely lose a stone and a bit though.

| Re: Get in shape for Christmas... I used to have ok chebs. Then when I was on the jag they started shrinking. Came off it, but the buggers still refuse stop and continue to disappear slowly *sniff sniff*. Like their mass has ended up in my ass! Not impressed.
