| Sore legs after drinking I had probably just over a half bottle last night watching the game.
I drank it in a pretty short period, so I felt pretty jolly.
Woke up this morning with sore legs.
It was a pretty dull pain, but stayed with me all day.
If I had been on a night out I'd have said it was cause of dancing or something, but I wasn't out dancing last night, I was sitting on my arse and playing table football.
I think I've had this before.
Anyone else experienced it?
I have a horrible feeling it could be to do with circulation, because my legs felt cold. |

| Re: Sore legs after drinking I've been getting that a fair bit recently - but thats mainly because I've been hunched over a computer writing my dissertation almost constantly for a week so any excercise whatsoever and my muscles start grumbling. (which of course means I should actually start going for my one hour or so walks that I keep talking about...)

| Re: Sore legs after drinking as i said b4 I used to get it all the time - especially with vodka! It has to do with poor circulation |

| Re: Sore legs after drinking Dramatic alcohol comsumption can disrupt the liver's metabolism of urea, causing a build up of uric acid in the joints, which can cause temporary symptoms of gout...
Might be that.
(I was told this by our crazy lecturer who also taught us how to be able to drink loads and not get a hangover...was to do with making the liver used to alcohol so that is metabolises it more efficiently...) |

The other cause is progesterone - not in your case though, obviously

Anyway...
What's the nature of the pain? Crushing, burning, tight, tingly etc? (sorry about the hundreds of questions...only way to really try reach a semi-diagnonsis). |

| Re: Sore legs after drinking Yeah, good shout, I could just have been dehydrated.
I skipped breakfast cause I had to drive to Dundee.
Wasn't hungover at all, but the legs just weren't right. Quote:

It wasn't sharp, or throbbing.

| Re: Sore legs after drinking Circulation problems would most likely result in a crushing, tight pain, and neurological problems with a tingly, sharp pain or numb, 'strange' feeling. It does sound like an electrolyte imbalance caused by dehydration, though, so I wouldn't worry too much about it and just drink plenty of fluids. |

| Re: Sore legs after drinking You have classic mineral loss. Take magnesium supplements before drinking or make sure you eat something full of carbohydrates before drinking..sometimes dehydration causes increased mineral loss due to no food (or lack of carb packed food) before drinking. You see it in lots of patients who drink and take a low carb diet as well as those on diuretics. Drinking water won't help as much as taking an electrolyte packed drink (dioralyte) or even having a sugary drink and eating a banana helps redress potassium loss (don't take supplements for this).
