If you feel breathless, tired with a mid chest pain radiating outward towards your shoulders and neck, you could be experiencing stress related anxiety or you could be having something much more serious that requires an ECG and blood tests to confirm. If you're still in pain, go to A & E and have it checked out. Take that info as you will.

the pain comes on and off, sort of once an hour or so lasts for maybe a minute.... if its still there tomorrow ill go to the doc i think

i kept waking up in agony with really bad chest pains when i was at ruth's one night. was struggling to breath at times.
went to the hospital to get it checked it out. doctor thought i'd just cracked a rib or two. got a day off work and went for lunch wae ruth in the pub. | |

whilst we are on this subject...
i get this every once in a while. it happened again today when i was lying watching tv.
it's as if my blood pressure skyrockets for about 5-10 seconds and i feel a kind of surge rise up from my chest through my neck and my head feels like it's pulsating.
it's kind of similar to taking poppers.
it used to happen to me at work sometimes and it felt like i had to struggle to not black out.
any ideas? | |

I used to get chest pains all the time and used to worry myself sick that I was dying (which makes it worse, actually!) and I went to the doctor and he thought it was stress related...anyway - my bp was fine etc so wasn't a lot he could do (cholestreol was fine as well) so he just advised lots of excercise and breathing activities etc. This was about 2 years ago and i have never had chest pains since!
This could of course be down to the fact that I'm not stressed/dont drink/excercise a lot - but in the meantime
one of the breathing activities was everytime you get a pain to breathe in through your nose for about six seconds and make sure your diaphram (christ I dont know if that the right thing, NOT the contraception thing, the bit underneath your stomach) goes out. then breathe out slowly. Its quite good.
