| Achey Breaky Back I get such a sore wee backy and necky at dull office job. It used to only come on after a few hours, but its getting worse and now within 20 minutes of sitting down it starts aching.
I was holding out till it cramped up completely and I could claim some money and go on long term sick leave but thats taking more time than anticipated so I was just gonna quit?

| Re: Achey Breaky Back Bitch to the company about your chair/desk/whatever. Your working position is hurting both you and your productivity. It’s their responsibility to look after your health whilst under their roof, etc, etc.

| Re: Achey Breaky Back I dunno. A better chair/desk can only do so much. I think that no matter what ergonomic rubbish they buy, you are going to get a sore neck/back if you do data entry for 5 hours solid. Quit it is then~! Thanks

I've been on long term sick for 3 months now due to a bad back and I persevered for a year before I finally went off work.
The last year was the most miserable I've ever had and the last 3 months have been boring as hell so it's really not worth it.
Appart from anything else, it's really not worth dicking about with your physical health for the sake of getting some time off. I was eventually told that if I didn't take time off my back was a time bomb waiting to go off which could have left me paralysed from the waist down. It's really not worth risking things like that if you ask me.
Just get a new job. It'll make you feel much better in the long run |

Every single article I've read has said "people were just not designed to sit still for long periods of time staring at a monitor.... so here's a product to use to minimalise the pain~!". How about if humans weren't designed to sit like that then just don't

| Re: Achey Breaky Back Aye, but that’s why you’re supposed to take breaks, do other tasks away from your desk to break up the time, and so on. Same as you should remember to look around, refocus your eyes every now and again, and all that sort of thing.

Not so omniscient after all.

Not so omniscient after all. | Maybe God is just an anti-capitalist and is planting the seeds of dissent for the revolution.
