Already??!

i just bought 2 new facial cleansers today. used one of them about an hour ago and my face is itchy already. its beyond a joke. i just cannot find a cleanser/facewash that doesnt irritate my skin (hence why i bought 2 different ones).
does anyone have any suggestions. i have tried just about everything.
im allergic to Simple stuff (eh, whit?), Clean and Clear kills my face, Clinique gave me an awful reaction under my eyes, boots own cleanser and toner made my jaw really itchy, Lush Baby Face was brilliant for all of a week, then just made my face itch all over, Dove cleansing bar was awful from the start, those mad wee 2 sided pads (garnier, nutrogina, something like that) were great for a week, then my skin hated them. now today i tried Witch cleansing liquid and my face is all itchy. its starting to really get me down...

Re: Already??!

Have you been to a dermatologist? Probably a totally silly question..but my sister is the same and had to get special medicated cleansers and that. Her skin is just that sensitive. She'd have things work for a week then mess up her skin.

That's all I can suggest. Only wipes I've found to work are Simple ones..and the only wash I can use is the o2 one from Avon. :/

i had patch tests done about 4 years ago, but that was because i was getting flair ups of contact dermatitus, and to see what the problem was. i have to use a prescribed shampoo coz my scalp cries if i use a regular shampoo on it. i guess ill just have to go to the doc. though i have been before coz i also cant find a deoderant im not allergic to. he didnt really seem to realise that giving me shampoo wasnt going to help my face or pits i must have spent about £200 on all sorts of different deoderants and face washes only to give them away or toss them after a week. god, its crap. i constantly itch, though i have no rashes to prove it!

Have you tried oil cleansers instead of soap-based ones?

Re: Already??!

You poor wee soul Fenn. I suggest maybe a dermatologist or maybe some sort of homeopathic shop thingy like Napiers or somewhere like that so you could get something natural?

Re: Already??!

Napiers have a homeopathy consultant apparently so you could maybe get an appointment to discuss it with her if you weren't getting what you wanted from your doc?

Have you tried No7 soft and gentle stuff? My friend uses it and has very sensitive skin.

Re: Already??!

an oil cleanser is a cream cleanser rather than a lotion, or Vonnie might be referring to the Oil Cleansing Method (which is the thing I've been going on about how great it is recently). If you are wanting to give it a go I can find some info to get you started.

Also I know where Napiers is Fenn its just up from where I used to work so if you're wanting to go I'll take you.

Re: Already??!

I'd recommend Boots expert instant soothing range. I used their facial wash and found it pretty good for dry skin. It's cheap and I found it effective at getting rid of the tightness that I usually got from most facial washes and also didn't leave that horrible greasiness that can sometimes attend cream cleansers.
