UPDATE
I still don't know what's up with it.
Had an X-ray done, nothing showing up there, and they physio is uncertain as to what structure the swelling itself is coming from, it's changeability though suggests that it isn't some cancerous ganglion though, at least.
Bout a month ago it flared up hideously, and I've been invalided off since, and can't really be on my feet for too long as it starts to ache like fuck, and if i push it I' m in agony the next day, plus it's audibly clicking every time i take a step now, which is 'fun'.
Now i get to wait fuck knows how many months to see a knee specialist. 'yaaaay'. | |

Could be a mild case of Osteoarthritis, one of my old clients has that and it sounded very similar, but i'm they would have realised that by now.

Osteoarthritis would show up on the xray. I agree in that I think it sounds like it's something to do with the cartilage, the meniscus in particular. If it is that you would have to see a specialist anyway, so it's just the shiteous waiting lists for specialist referral you have to be pissed about. | |
