| itchy eyeballs my eyes have been itchy for a week or 2 now. im assuming its hayfever related, but they have never been itchy before. however i have just moved out to the countryside AND i also work in a garden centre in the countryside. ANYWAY i need help. i cant use anti histamine eyedrops, coz im allergic to anti histamines, and i dont know what other eyedrop type things are out there. any other hayfever sufferers got something they swear by?

| Re: itchy eyeballs Try finding out if there's any honey produced locally and start using it in tea, on sandwiches or however you can think of. As its locally produced it therefore contains small amounts of local pollen, which naturally build up your own resistance to it.
Its not a short term solution, granted, but for instant relief, I'd just try damp, cold cotton wool pads rested on your eyes from time to time. Oh, and wear sunglasses. |

| Re: itchy eyeballs i have homeopathic hayfever tablets, and they are great for my hayfever but are doing squat for my eyes.
im the same as you, Jody, my eyes tend to be very sensative coz i get eczema too. sore eyelids are hellish but this is in my tearducts and around teh inside edge if my eyelids.
ive tried cool damp cotton wool pads but they only help when i have them on, andi tend to wear sunglasses as much as possible, but thats just not an option in work

| Re: itchy eyeballs ohhh also, i find that when my eyes are itchy from hayfever, if i rinse them with cold water, it helps so much.
i usually just fill my hands up with freezing cold water and just blink my eyes in it for a bit.
probs rly unhygienic but it works...

| Re: itchy eyeballs the gel masks that you stick in the fridge are good. I find normal eyedrops work too but you would have to check for ingredients incase theres still stuff your allergic too. When they are starting to itch close your eyes for a few mins, that always helps too

| Re: itchy eyeballs why don't you see if you could get really light lensed sunglasses/those fake glasses emo kids wear and explain to Cheryl why you are wearing them.
Did you see Stewarts eyes on sunday? I felt so sorry for him they were so red and puffy, thats from his hayfever too. I'm going to buy him all the eyedrops and put a bottle in every pocket he has so he never forgets them again. |
