| GUM Clinic Now before anyone gets excited...I dont have any STDs I'm just on my last 3 Microgynon ad the only place I usually go for Contraception is the Sandyford in Glasgow. Now, in this here shithole of England, how HARD is it to find a Family Planning Clinic? I've looked up http://www.fpa.org.uk/finder/ and its giving me an antenatal clinic as my nearest one? And another site gives me the GUM clinic in the local hospital. Is the GUM clinic JUST for people who have the clap or can you get contraception there too? Thing is I need somewhere I can drop in and pick shit up rather than make a doctors appointment which I might not be able to make due to the unpredictable nature of my work etc. Help? |

| Re: GUM Clinic I like how they call them "family planning" clinics.
It's like the "job" centre. It's the fucking dole centre. We know it, you know it, just stop insulting our intelligence, government. |

| Re: GUM Clinic I think GUM clinic would deal with contraception as well - not sure, cos Sandyford has both!
I mean they usually have condoms available at a GUM clinic, so other forms of contraception wouldn't be too much of a leap of the imagination!

| Re: GUM Clinic Why don't you arrange an appointment at the doctor when you have a day off? That way you can just phone for repeat prescriptions thereafter, saving you the hassle.

When the boss asks what it's for, just tell him. He'll probably never ask again.
Not to mention that you have a completely legitimate excuse to get time off for the Doctor. |

| Re: GUM Clinic you can get contraceptive pills from the GUM clinic - better to look out for the 'woman's health' people at local doctors/clinics. They usually turn up for a few hours one day a week, you go in, do your thing and leave.
