| Re: 2 Stone for.... progress Well, metrosexual guys/gays can.
Theoretically, would anyone care if their weight changed and they still looked exactly the same?
(Lost 2 1/2 stone, looking buffer than I have in years. May just start wandering around naked when it gets warmer.)

Goal for this year is to drop another 1-2 stone to around 11 - 11 1/2 | I hit a plateau at this point. New roommate's a dietician/nutritionist, kicked my ass into eating properly. Dropped a half-stone in the last two weeks and it's still slowly slipping downwards.
Goal - attainable. |

I'm allll about the toning up now, although an hour and ten minutes in front of a fitness dvd actually nearly killed me last night. Scary how unfit I've become.
3 dress sizes in seven months is hardcore, nice one! | Seriously, how did you do it? I put on loads of weight last year and I'm at the heaviest I've ever been, I hover around 13 stone and it's not shifting at all. The lightest I've weighed since I had the kids was 10.5 stone and I feel like a whale.
Is anyone else still dieting? Would it be worth starting a new support thread? |

| Re: 2 Stone for.... progress I definitely need to lose some weight - Christmas and then exam stress has left me about half a stone heavier than I was, and much heavier than I'd like to be.
I'm going on the cabbage soup diet (which actually looks surprisingly healthy) for a week before my ball cos I don't want to feel like a whale there, and then going to make an effort to get more exercise (I do actually eat reasonably well, I just don't have the time or the motivation to do any exercise just now). |

I want to do something to hugely kick off my weight loss and some kind of soup/maple syrup diet followed by a GI plan was what I was hoping to do. Kirsty keeps telling me to try weightwatchers but it's too much counting for my liking. Quote:

Al | If I lived nearer Glasgow I would cycle to work, I think the cycle home would kill me though because it's all uphill. Go for it, Al! |

| Re: 2 Stone for.... progress I'm doing this for a week: http://www.cabbage-soup-diet.com/eating-plan.html
Dan and I love making soup anyway (and he's said he's going to join me in the diet for moral support ), and you can mess about with the recipe with spices and herbs to make it more interesting. It's just loads of fruit and veg for a week, with some potatoes and beef mixed in for good measure. It sounds pretty good, and apparently it works to kick start your diet.
I'll probably do this for the week before my ball and see how it goes, and then switch to simply 'healthier eating' after that. And definitely more exercise. |

I picked up another diet book in a charity shop t'other day (Dr Joshi's 21 Day Holistic Detox) but it sounds too bizarre for my tastes. You're not even allowed fruit. |

| Re: 2 Stone for.... progress Hmmm. I lost a fair bit of lard and gained a little muscle towards the end of last year. However, I stopped going to the gym and started eating more junk and funnily enough I've put on weight. Can't afford a proper gym at the moment so I'm off to join the Glasgow Club today.
