I'm particularly guilty of breaking this 'rule' as I'm rather partial to making massive bowls of pasta at midnight.
I don't really know the ins and outs of this rule but I know it's a mixture of your motabolism slowing down at night so not being able to digest stuff properly, and if you're wanting to lose weight it's a good way of doing it without your body going into starvation mode like it would if you skipped breakfast.

| Re: Recommend me a diet If your problem is snacking when your watching telly or whatever try doing something with your hands(STEADY) like knitting or something. If i was trying to lose weight i'd start small, just like Adie(mini_dez) was suggesting. Fad diets don't work in the long term, i wouldnt go near them. Good luck. |

The actual diet's pretty intense (although "diet" is the wrong word - it's supposed to be a long-term thing) but the book is beyond amazing. So much information, it'll inspire you to give your whole attitude to food an overhaul, even if you don't go in for the whole vegan thing. |

| Re: Recommend me a diet 5 or 6 little meals a day. atleast one containing complex carbs (oats, muesli, etc). oddly, use smaller plates - sounds bollocks but actually helps you cut portion sizes. try not to deny yourself anything as you'll just crave it more. everything in moderation. Good luck!

| Re: Recommend me a diet Id agree with the healthy eating rather than fad diets, it may take a little longer for the weight to come of but it will take longer for you to put the weight back on...
When i lost all the weight the one thing i would say you need is willpower and motivation and if you cant fit in goin to the gym for instance walk as much places as you can and even get a workout dvd for the house id recommend the second carmen electra one
Food wise id stick to having cereal in the morning with fruit, for lunch either soup and a pita bread with tuna for example or a nice salad. For meals id recommend having like grilled chicken and lots of veg but if you cant stick to that and feel like something more "fatty" just make the portions smaller
Worked for me anyways
Also make sure you have at least 2 litre of water a day and dont eat after 7ish to 8ish as your body slows down and doesnt burn the food of so anything you eat you will store
Good luck

But eating them later on means you won't use the energy they provide and it'll be stored as fat.
So if you feel hungry later at night something lower in carbs is best. I'd have a protein shake, but that's probably not for everyone. |

| Re: Recommend me a diet Stop eating without thinking about it. Always make sure you can enjoy what you eat - dont watch tv etc.
Brush your teeth after meals.
Dont use cooking oil - you dont need it if youve got a non stick pan.
Exercise in the morning - it puts you in a much better mood and makes you more determined not to stray.
DONT ban yourself from foods, just eat much less of them. Have a mini cremem egg a day - it wont kill you.
Tell all your friends you're on a diet, and stress the importance of it to them, so they dont try to bully you into 'just one night' with doritos and pizza.
Raw veg - lots of it. With salsa, tsaziki or a small amount of reduced fat houmous. Try new things - sugarsnap peas are tasty, and just as satisfying as a bag of crisps. Today I had carrots, peppers, celery and cucumber with a tub of salsa.
Be aware that reduced fat doesnt mean low fat. Same with being aware of fruit and veg - avacados are full of fat (Yes, theyre healthy but not good if you want to lose weight) and a banana has 25% of your daily sugar intake. Grapes are quite high in sugar too. Stick to berries.
Frubes. Stick em in the freezer, you can snack on them during the day and theyre onnly 40 calories each.
Dont eat things you dont want to, just because theyre healthy.
Have salad/veg with EVERYTHING you can, makes you feel like youve eaten much more.
Drink as much water as you can.
Dont ban snacks, because you'll eat more at meal times, just make sure that theyre healthy - half a tin of soup at 4pm isnt going to kill you if you pick the right one.
If you need a diet to stick to, the GI diet is the best.
Good luck!

Haha, I don't think the punters loved our chat in the Vale the other night.
"I mean, if you really serious about weight loss, get on the speed. Or the smack if you're really obese. Otherwise, you're just not dedicated enough."

Joking aside, I'd try often during the day - but go for things like fruit, veg, cereal etc. That way you don't get tempted to binge on a big fattening meal that will be hard to shift, and it'll keep yer energy levels up.
