| Re: Help toning up Rach you want to come swimming with me? I'd be jazzed about that.
I refuse point blank to ever wear a sports bra again so it's the only exercise i can do without breast-damage. |

| Re: Help toning up i've been doing pilates loads recently at home from a really good dvd its split into wee 10 minute segments and once you get over the annoyance of the womans accent its fine. i've not got it with me to check the name of it but i shall do when i get home. its really good and each section is split into what area you want to tackle, i've been doing the tummy one most and have noticed a change. |

bloody good site if you want to get buff.
I know you're gonna look at it and say, "but i don't want to get muscles, i just want tone!"
however, the old addage from the guys point of view is "if you wanna look like brad train to look like conan"
hope this helps

tummy- crunch, V sit up (pretty hard), Bicycle (posted above by fremlin), leg raise.
Arms- press ups, tricep dips.
Legs/Arse- Squats, lunges.
There's also loads of kinds of squats/press ups etc, you can find them on google if you want. Instead of just doing 25 of each exercise each night you could alternate it with some supersets. This means doing say 15xcrunch, 15xpress up and 15xsquat with no breaks in between, then having a 1 minute break and doing it all again. Repeat this 3 times or more, it's up to you how much you can manage/be bothered with.
You can see how to do planks, including side and back planks, here: http://www.mymuaythai.com/archives/k...nd-2/#more-392
As suggested on that site, I leave them til the end and do one of each for my given time. | Cheers. Quote:

Getting someone to set up a program with you takes like an hour max, and you'll tone up so much faster if you do it. | I know, but tis the people WATCHING me as well, folk in the uni gym are pretty snotty. Ill probably do it in a bit when Im a bit more confident, this was just to get me started. Quote:

| Re: Help toning up Rachael, I swim with my lenses in - just gotta wear some goggles is all.
Just bought myself one of these...
And in only a couple of weeks it's perked up my butt and tightened my thighs. Use the bungee ropes or just constant arm movements, and it does your arms too.
Am usually on it for half an hour although I stay on for 60-90 minutes if I'm having fun
Was only £25.

Mine are daily disposables, for the last 2 years I will keep the same pair in for days on end which obviously includes sleeping in them. If I fancy a break and then they are put in solution over night. There's utterly nothing wrong with it, in fact my eyes improved last check up. Quote: |

| Twas from the Argoooos. Granted you look a bit daft on it, but it works EVERYTHING if you get your arms going - even your abs because you're doing a pushing outward motion as well as up and down.
Plus you can still watch the telly.

| Re: Help toning up Best thing to do if ya aint done it yet is sort out a diet plan. 70% of getting in shape is diet. 6-8 small meals a day with a protein/carb mix with some healthy fats is the best way to speed up yer metabolism. No carbs after 8pm.
Some good cardio for an hour 3-4 times a week. Working out at home is a motivation killer after a few weeks. So i'd advise not to work out at home unless you have a strict mind. Working on abs aint gonna tone yer abs up. It only makes them stronger. Cardio works the whole body not just 1 body part. The cross-trainer is a great cardio machine. Exercise bike and rowing machine are great too. Some free weights mixed in too.
Most people at the gym aint too proud of their bodies so I wouldn't worry too much what others think.
Like someone said..get a program written up off the gym and get rockin! |

You do realise this now means investigating the muscle conditioning suite as they've re-jigged all the weights machines upstairs... the mc suite is scareeeey!

| Re: Help toning up Rach, I'll take you roon' the gym, doll!
I used to teach professionally from basic-all the way up to SEVERE-PAIN inducing training, so you can get started off nicely, and'll end up a toned, sexae mu'fuckar within a relatively short period of time (if ye can be arsed putting the work in! )
Afterwards, we can go for a kebab.... Deal?

I aint ever done that but I may try it cos my lenses are darn expensive! The optician said never to do that as it takes the whole meaning of wearing fresh lenses everyday which means less eye problems such as pink eye |

Doing hundreds of sit ups will make ur stomach muscles stronger but ye wont be able to see anythin if there's fat in the way so u have to get that fat to fuck by sweatin like a mother brother.
