| Alcohol + anitbiotics.
Are you not supposed to drink with all antibiotics, or only the ones that specifically say on the label?

It's not generally advisable to drink alcohol when taking antibiotics due to some side effects (dizzyness, tiredness etc) also when prescribed antiB you're are suffering from a bacterial infection and so your system may be run down. However, alcohol does not interfere with the antibiotics; metronidazole, cephamandole and oral ketoconazole being the exceptions.

metronidazole - That's what i get given! Yup, its very re-assuring to be told that i will projectile vomit if i so much as sniff alcohol while on that medication, nice!

Alcohol and antibiotics is generally fine (with a few exceptions, pointed out earlier), the thinking behind advising against it is mainly that if you're on a course of drugs you don't want your liver struggling with a booze binge while it's also required to process a bunch of antibiotics. But that's just best practise advice, rather than highlighting a specific and clear danger.
