Re: Protein supplement

I've used that stuff before, the seal was the same. Now that you mention it there was some wee black bits in it. I thought nothing of it and was fine throughout my use of it. If you take it on an empty stomach it can bring on some stomach pain.

Re: Protein supplement

Aye, there's no black bits in the stuff I use now either. Couldn't afford to keep buying the promax, even from eBay. It did the job though.

Re: Protein supplement

My mum came home last night and told me that the Tesco in ayr sells the promax diet shake for £29. Good deal same price as ebay - the postage costs and a tenner cheaper than the promax site.

Glad someone else had the same stuff in the promax, didn't want to be taking a protien shake with rat posion in it lol.

Re: Protein supplement

Aye, I thought it might have been that. £29 is a good price for promax, still can't afford it though

Re: Protein supplement

I use this one: http://www.powerhouse-fitness.co.uk/...raw%5F2%2E27kg

I buy it from powerhouse cos they'll price match that site, and it's near where I train anyway.

Re: Protein supplement

I am trying to drop some weight as i have put on some in the last few months due to finishing my degree and just not having the time to train or get a proper eating plan. I have lost about 4 stone in the last year and a half and hoping to drop some more.

I am currently 88kg and my current diet (which i statred 3 days ago) is 5 fibre tablets, a tonalin & green tea capsule and a pro max diet shake for breakfast, lunch and a dinner consisting of chicken, veg and a sauce, usually a tomato based one homemade and all natural.

I also add some fruit in as a snack and a load of water.

Is this eating plan ok and good for my body for a few weeks until i drop those extra pounds and start the weights again.

Basically i want to drop the fat and then replace with muscle as i am training for my first mma fight at the end of the year hopefully, i am a little flabby and my strength has dropped due to lack of weights and toning.

Thx in advance.

Re: Protein supplement

If you're looking to drop fat and keep on the muscle then I'd recommend picking up those weights again. The plan I'm following just now (I'm also trying to lose fat) is adapted from here: http://www.t-nation.com/article/body...imize_fat_loss. If you want to know my exact plan then PM me and I'll send you it, but it depends what equipment you have access to what exercises you use.
I'm not following the cardio aspects of the plan rigidly as I train in Mauy Thai a few times a week anyway.

As for eating I'd say search through the article library the site above (www.t-nation.com) for articles on nutrition as it's got some really good ones. The site's primarily aimed at body builders but also caters for fighters, the archives have some interviews with some fighters if your interested.
Some links to get you started-

Re: Protein supplement

I've been using Boditronics Express Whey for the last couple of months. Compared to others that I've tried this one tastes really nice and mixes very well. Its not the cheapest but I've found it to be much better than the myprotein and promax whey.
