Paracetomal - take two four times a day and iburpofen 400mg - take one three times a day, at differnet times. Wash your mouth out with corsodyl up to 4 times a day, or twice a day and use salt water in between times.
| Than maybe a dentist would.
Either way, asking your dentist (as captain obvious anglarna says) or doctor would probably be a better bet than asking a primarily alternative music community forum. |

Than maybe a dentist would. | Dental students, correct me if I am wrong, do at least a few years of medicine to be qualified to give just such advice.

Either way, asking your dentist (as captain obvious anglarna says) or doctor would probably be a better bet than asking a primarily alternative music community forum. | This is simply wrong.
Dentists are mouth specialists, and given that it's a dentist that will be doing the procedure I think he'd be best placed to give advice on the care of the wound.
However, I don't really plan to sit in my dentist's chair asking if butternut squash or watercress soup would go down better after the procedure, or whether two or three pillows would be more comfortable.
Hence, asking a large number of people about their experiences might give me some hints and tips about what it'll actually be like to deal with after the fact.
Cheers for your help though. Without you I'd never have thought of talking to a medical professional as well as an "alternative music community forum." |

Just looking for advice/experiences from other folks for the post extraction period. I'll have someone with me before, during and after the "operation" to check that I don't suddenly die after the anesthetic but I was wondering what I should eat, what to do/avoid doing etc.
Anyone care to share their personal experience? | 9am Wednesday meeting then

| Re: Wisdom tooth extraction - aftercare tips I got mine done in the morning, then stupidly, playing the tough guy went in to work that night. Woozy and bleeding behind a bar. Bastard bosses never sent me home either, had to lock up and cash off that night (accidentally let a school leavers party get away without payin a £300 bar bill, oops)
Bled constantly for two days, (don't be too vigorous with the old saltwash as can wash away the clot and start bleeding again) eventually stopped the bleeding by biting down on those cotton wool pads for removing make up. (Got called Tampon Face by several peers for a while, until another incident which I won't go into left me known as Spunknose, but I digress)
Hope this helps.
P.S. Yours won't be anything like as bad as this, I'm just a bad healer! |
