| Re: The all-new, all-singing, all-dancing two stone for whenever thread. haha...calculated BMI for my target weight - turns out that it's just the entry level for "overweight". I've heard folks be harsh on the BMI scale, but seriously - if my desired weight is supposedly overweight on some arbitrary system..that just feels weird. "Yes, I would like to be overweight please"
Most of my weight loss/muscle build is for work since I started doing a few days of physical labour a week. When I started cutting back on fast foods/sodas I was about 240lbs. Right now I'm 175 and looking to go down to around 150ish this year. New roommate's a dietician/fitness instructor/nutritionist so she's kicking my ass with the "EAT HEALTHIER, ASSHOLE" shenanigans.
Current diet is "look idiot, you eat twice a day. Now, I don't care what you eat at first but you will eat 6 times a day if I have to force-feed you" - since moving to that about two weeks ago I've rediscovered the appetite I forgot I ever had, and I've dropped 6-8lbs (I had hit a plateau around 182-188 for the last 12months). My metabolism's up, and next week I'm moving to meal plans (roommate adores the South Beach diet stuff) with not-too-strict guidelines and mostly anaerobic exercise. |

| Re: The all-new, all-singing, all-dancing two stone for whenever thread. Y'know, for all medical science tells you its a bad idea, if you don't eat you lose weight.
Not recommending it, as it will work perfectly well for some and make others seriously ill, but I'm just saying.

From the little I've heard about it it looks awful, but if your dietician mate likes it then maybe I'm missing something. |

The initial period is Atkins-style restrictive on things you can/can't eat, but once you get out of the cleansing/detox first two weeks the main tenets of the diet are:
protein, fat, and carbs with every meal.
Depending on which "phase" of the diet you are in details what the ratio of protein:fat:carbs you should be having. Initially you start on high fat, high carbs, low protein and move to a high protein, medium fat, low carb ratio
For an example of meal plan:
Breakfast - 1banana, 8oz orange juice, 1tablespoon of whey protein - blended into a smoothie (yum)
3hrs later - snack. 2 string cheese, 1 apple
3hrs later - lunch. 4oz chicken, 2slices bread, mustard
3hrs later - pre-workout meal. 3oz chicken breast, 1cup rice, salsa
3hrs later - post-workout shake. Can be same as breakfast
1hr later - dinner - 5oz chicken, broccoli
If I'm still up 2-3hrs later, another sandwich for snack |

| Re: The all-new, all-singing, all-dancing two stone for whenever thread. Well, my previous eating habits were:
7am - Candy bar. 200mg of caffeine
11am - 1/2lb chicken tenders (breaded chicken, fried or baked)
4pm - another 200mg of caffeine (does wonders on the appetite)
7pm - sandwich...or depending on hunger, a loaf of bread torn to chunks and dipped in tomato soup or oil/balsamic
so you'd hafta appreciate me doing better ? |

| Re: The all-new, all-singing, all-dancing two stone for whenever thread. Oh yeh, I can't deny that it's much better than snacking on junk food all day or living off caffiene, but I guess that because it's coming from a nutritionist I'm being more critical. |

| Re: The all-new, all-singing, all-dancing two stone for whenever thread. I'm gonna have to, to not die start getting my act together after Manchester. Minimal booze, no beer at all, minimal fizzies, and regular fruit and decent sleeping/eating patterns. Whether i can be arsed updating this thread with it i doubt. You're no doubt on the edge of your seats.
