No more pressure in the ear canal, peroxide kills the cold bacteria which is linked to your ears, and if your hearing is plugged, it will allow you to hear again.
The bubbling action in peroxide is the oxygen coming from the water, it's basically super oxygenated water so it's harmless. Do not overdo it though as the action of killing bacteria can continue and when there's no more bacteria, it will attack the cells and kill them.
Avoid getting in your eyes.
Do Not swallow if gargling for a sore throat. (Tastes really bad, but works.)
Some people even cure their strep throat with this method.
