| Cold Sores / Mouth Ulcers Gah. What's good for treating them? Or for preventing them? Other than quitting kissing cactuses. I've discovered a few too many recently.
P.S the forum's too big, there's a section for this sort of stuff probably, but I can't find it. |

| Re: Cold Sores / Mouth Ulcers Get some Bonjella from the chemist. It takes away the pain for a few hours at a time.
And it tastes great as well. |

| Re: Cold Sores / Mouth Ulcers Bonjella should help clear it up tho. Other then that, try using Listerine or Corsodyl, any kind of anti-bacterial mouthwash. And remember to brush twice away to prevent them |

| Re: Cold Sores / Mouth Ulcers Yeah, Listerine should do the trick.
Ha, your post reminded me of a time when I got this thing called 'Trench Mouth' (soldiers got it due to prolonged periods of stress in the trenches during the 14 - 18 war).
Blisters all over my gums and tongue, severe haemoraging (sp?) of the gums so that I'd wake up and my teeth would be caked in blood which in turn caused ass breath. My gums actually loosened to the point where I could move my teeth a little so the dentist was worried about my teeth falling out. All at 17 too...
Now that was rank! I ended up getting 10 fillings in one month after that!

| Re: Cold Sores / Mouth Ulcers Cold sores are a bastard. I'd use Zovirax at the first sign of a cold sore (usually a tingling sensation) however be sure to check the medical details and if your getting lots it might be best to check with you GP.
You also want to find out whats causing them since it's usually a sign your run down or stressed.

| Re: Cold Sores / Mouth Ulcers Mouth ulcers are not copntagious like cold sores are, just some people are a lot more prone to em than others (me being one of thoe'lucky' ones)
Bonjela is a good shout, though it aint nearlyu as strong as anbesol , which you can get as a liquid or a gel, which stings like fuck at first but kills the pain off for ages.
there's another stuff called adcortyl, which you can get out the chemist, which kills off ulcers in a couple of days, however, it dont kill the pain off when you apply it like the other stuff does, it also tastes something like feet.
My cunning tip is but the adcortyl and the anbesol, whack some anbesol on to kill the pain, then dab the area dry (if you can) before sticking on a bit of the adcortyl stuff.
If it's a cold sore you have though, i dunno, i dont get them. |

| Re: Cold Sores / Mouth Ulcers dab some lavender oil on them, dilute it a wee bit first with some baby oil or something, but its really good for mouth ulcers.
