| Re: Quitting Smoking patches are silly anyway. cos nicotine and physical cravings leave your body in three days, so by using patches youre not really doing anything about the psychological addiction, and just prolonging the physical withdrawal.
well done to everyone who has/is quitting. i stopped about 4 weeks ago (this is like the 3rd time ive quit this year). had a slight lapse 2 days ago when i smoked 3 fags, but other than that im doing ok.. yey!

| Re: Quitting Smoking Well done to those who have stopped, my grandad smoked since he was 15, he's now 65, and he gave up smoking about 5 months ago and is still managing fine. He works abroad most of the year so we can't keep an eye on him, but after he got ill and they told him that he would DIE if he kept smoking the way he did, he just gave up. Just like that.
Also, he did it completely cold turkey as well. If you're wondering how bad he smoked, put it this way - on previous attempts he tried patches and gum, but used to smoke WITH the patch on. Bloody idiot

Then he died.
I miss him so.
